High school baseball: Glenbrook, Lakeside, Doyline post victories

The Glenbrook Apaches, Lakeside Warriors and Doyline Panthers won Monday.

Glenbrook defeated Neville 8-3 at Glenbrook, Lakeside defeated Oak Grove 8-7 at Oak Grove and Doyline defeated Homer 20-8 at Doyline.

At Glenbrook, the Apaches trailed 3-0 through three innings then scored three in the fourth and five in the fifth.

Six Apaches combined for nine hits. Ace Rolen went 3-for-3. Brayden Watkins went 2-for-3 with a double. 

Noah Martin pitched a complete game. He scattered six hits, struck out four and walked two. Martin gave up only one hit after the second inning.

Glenbrook (14-12) begins a two-game District 1-1A series against Cedar Creek Wednesday at home. Neville fell to 11-15.

At Oak Grove, Lakeside put six on the board in the top of the second. Oak Grove scored four in the bottom of the inning. The Warriors added two in the fourth.

The Tigers scored one in the fourth then cut the deficit to one with two in the bottom of the seventh. With runners at second and third, Mason Shipp induced a flyout to end the game.

Bryson Finley went 3-for4 with a double and three RBI. Kaleb Rolen went 2-for-4. Nate Wallace had a hit and drew two walks.

Starter Gage Williams struck out eight and walked three in 5 1/3 innings. Shipp pitched the final 1 1/3 innings. He didn’t give up an earned run.

Lakeside (9-18) visits North Webster Thursday at 6. Oak Grove dropped to 8-14.

At Doyline, the Panthers had six hits and took advantage of 16 walks.

Zack Moseley went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Taylor Cox had a double and three RBI. Emery Ransbottom had a double and two RBI. Isiaiah Foster had two RBI.

Dario Galvez allowed three hits and struck out eight In six innings.

Doyline (7-11) hosts Quitman Tuesday at 5. Homer dropped to 14-11.
