High school baseball: Lakeside rallies past Red River for district win

The Lakeside Warriors defeated Red River 4-3 in a District 3-2A game Wednesday at Lakeside.

The game was the completion of a two-game series that started on March 10. Game 2 was postponed because of inclement weather. The teams split the series.

Wednesday’s game was tied at 2 after six innings. Red River scored one in the top of the seventh. The Warriors then won it with two.

Jake Glass led off with a single and advanced to second on a groundout. Drake Chreene followed with a walk. Both moved up a base on a passed ball.

Glass tied it on a groundout by Nate Wallace. Pinch runner Brennan Hubbard scored the winning run on Bryson Finley’s single.

Gage Williams pitched a complete game. He scattered seven hits, struck out six and walked three. He also went 2-for-4 with a triple.

Finley went 3-for-4. Glass went 2-for-4. 

Lakeside (8-17, 3-3) hosts Northwood Friday at 5. Red River dropped to 8-10 and 2-2.

Elsewhere, Glenbrook fell to Arkansas High 13-7 at Glenbrook.

Kleaton Davis had a double and three RBI. Ryan Reagan had a double and two RBI. He also drew two walks.

Glenbrook (13-11) hosts Parkway Friday at 6.
