High school baseball: Minden, Glenbrook, North Webster win regular-season finales

The Minden Crimson Tide, Glenbrook Apaches and North Webster Knights closed the regular season with victories Monday.

Minden defeated Converse 8-4 in nine innings at Converse, Glenbrook rallied past Byrd 4-3 in nine innings at Glenbrook and North Webster defeated Bradley, Ark., 10-3 at Bradley.

In other regular-season finales, Doyline fell to Lakeview 2-1 at Doyline and Lakeside lost to Evangel Christian 7-5 at Lakeside.

The LHSAA will announce official first-round playoff pairings Tuesday.

At Converse, Minden tied the game at 4 with two runs in the top of the sixth. After two scoreless innings, the Tide took the lead with four in the ninth.

Barron Bower went 3-for-3. Landon Brewer had a pair of doubles among his three hits and finished with three RBI. Hudson Brown had a double.

Starter Bray Winston went seven innings. Bower gave up one hit, struck out three and walked two in two innings of relief.

Minden (22-11) is No. 8 in the non-select Division II power rankings. The top eight teams in the final official rankings receive first-round byes in the playoffs.

At Glenbrook, Byrd took a 3-1 lead with a run in the top of the seventh. The Apaches scored two in the bottom of the inning to send the game into extra innings.

Ace Rolen singled with one out in the ninth. Darron Hollingsworth singled with two outs and Rolen scored the winning run on an error.

Ryan Reagan had two of the Apaches’ five hits. Starter Noah Martin went seven innings and scattered eight hits. Hollingsworth didn’t give up a hit and walked only one in two innings of relief.

Glenbrook (17-14) is No. 11 in the select Division IV power rankings. The top 12 teams in the final rankings receive first-round byes in the playoffs. Byrd dropped to 10-21.

At Bradley, Tyler Brown had three hits. Gerrit Gillentine had two, including a double. Aiden Woodall got the win.

North Webster (12-15) is No. 25 in the non-select Division III rankings. The top 24 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.

At Lakeside, the Warriors led 1-0 through four innings. Evangel scored five in the top of the fifth. Lakeside answered with four in the bottom of the inning. The Eagles took the lead with two in the top of the seventh.

Brock Case had a home run, triple and two RBI. Drake Chreene went 2-for-2. Nate Wallace had a double and two RBI.

Lakeside (12-22) is No. 21 in the non-select Division III rankings and will be on the road in the first round of the playoffs.

At Doyline, the Panthers trailed 2-0 through six innings. They scored one in the seventh but couldn’t complete the rally.

James Dodge had a double. Zack Moseley had a hit and walked twice.

Dario Galvez and Dodge combined on a no-hitter. Galvez struck out 12 and walked four in five innings. Dodge struck out three and walked one in two.

Doyline (8-15) is No. 22 in the Class B power rankings. The top 20 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.
