The Minden Crimson Tide and Glenbrook Apaches picked up victories Thursday.
Minden defeated D’Arbonne Woods 8-3 in the first of a scheduled three-game series in Farmerville. Glenbrook defeated Evangel Christian 10-2 in the first of a scheduled three-game series at Glenbrook.
At D’Arbonne Woods, Minden gave up three runs in the bottom of the first then rallied for the victory.
The Tide tied it with three runs in the third then added three in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Minden took advantage of 10 walks and five errors on the chilly night.
Landyn Huddleston went 2-for-4 with a double. Rider Miller had a two-RBI single with two outs in the sixth.
Bray Winston drew three walks. Bryson Ranger, Hudson Brown and Keegan Pope drew two apiece.
Ranger went 6 2/3 innings for the win. He allowed four hits, struck out nine and walked two. Ranger gave up only two hits after the first.
Minden (2-0) hosts D’Arbonne Woods (0-1) in Game Two of the series Friday at 4:30 p.m.
At Evangel, Glenbrook’s Sam Ricord pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts and four walks.
The Apaches took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Eagles cut it to 2-1 in the top of the third. Glenbrook then blew the game open with eight in the fifth.
Preston Frye, Hudson Glasscock and Jackson Waller had singles in the fifth. Dawson Day’s three-run double with one out gave the Apaches a 7-1 lead.
Easton Sanders went 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Glenbrook (1-1) and Evangel (1-1) play Game Two of the series Friday at 6 at Evangel.
