The Minden Crimson Tide open the playoffs Thursday with Game 1 of their best-of-three non-select Division II first-round series against Beau Chene.

First pitch is at 6 p.m. at Griffith Stadium. Minden (21-8) is the No. 14 seed. Beau Chene (18-4) is No. 19.

Game 2 is set for 4 Friday. Game 3, if necessary, will immediately follow.

Beau Chene, which is located in Arnaudville, won District 5-5A with a 6-2 record. The Gators won only two of their last eight games after winning six of their previous seven.

Beau Chene bounced back from a 6-13 season in 2023.

Minden finished tied for second in District 1-4A with Evangel Christian and North DeSoto.

Last year, the Tide went into the playoffs as the No. 17 seed and were swept by Franklinton on the road.

Minden last advanced past the first round in 2021. The first round was a single game then. This is the second year for best-of-three series in the first round.

Elsewhere, No. 24 North Webster (16-15) is scheduled to open its non-select Division III first-round series Friday at No. 9 Loreauville at 6. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. Game 3, if necessary, is scheduled for 2.

Doyline (13-13), the No. 12 seed, hosts No. 21 Ebarb (9-14) in a non-select Division V first-round game Friday at 5:30. Teams play single games in Divisions IV and V throughout the playoffs.

Lakeside (15-14) is the No. 5 seed in non-select Division IV. The Warriors will host the winner between No. 12 Logansport (12-13) and No. 21 LaSalle (9-12) in the second round next week.

Glenbrook (13-10), the No. 11 seed, will travel to Plaquemine to face No. 6 St. John (22-10) in the second round of the select Division IV playoffs. Both teams received first-round byes.

The day and time of the game have not been posted on the LHSAA website.
