The Lakeside Lady Warriors and Minden Lady Tiders won first-round games in the Don Stahl Memorial Tournament girls division Wednesday at Lakeside.
Lakeside defeated North Caddo 34-26 and MInden downed Haynesville 55-12.
McKenzie Chase led Lakeside with 17 points. Kylee Taylor had 10.
Lakeside (1-1) plays the winner of Thursday’s first-round game between Simsboro and Ringgold in the semifinals at 5:15 p.m. Friday.
Alliyah Crow led Minden with 10 points. She also had two offensive rebounds and one block. Brooklyn Jefferson had eight points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Kynnadi Brown had eight points and five rebounds.
Minden (1-1) plays the winner of Thursday’s game between Arcadia and North DeSoto in the semifinals at 4 Friday.
Wednesday’s victory was the first was new Minden Head Coach Cindee Wright-Clark.
Arcadia defeated North Webster 55-17 in the first round and North DeSoto defeated Calvary Baptist.
In boys first-round games Wednesday, Minden fell to Arcadia 61-57 in overtime and Plain Dealing defeated Lakeside 61-51 behind Tyrese Kimble’s 44 points.
Darnell Morris and Jaiden Franklin led Minden with 16 and 15 points, respectively.
The Tide trailed 26-24 at the half and led 38-37 going into the fourth quarter. The game went into overtime tied at 50.
Ratrevious Crawley led Arcadia with 28 points.
In a first-round game Thursday, Camden, Ark., plays defending champion Ringgold at 8.
Plain Dealing (1-1) plays Magnolia School of Excellence, which received a first-round bye, in the semifinals at 6:30.
Minden (1-1) plays the Camden-Ringgold loser at 6:30 Friday in the consolation semifinals.
