The Minden boys and Minden and Lakeside girls were among the winners on the first day of the 31st Don Stahl Memorial Tournament hosted by Lakeside.
Defending boys champion Minden defeated Camden, Ark., 63-48. The Crimson Tide face Gibsland-Coleman in a quarterfinal game Thursday at 8 p.m.
Gibsland-Coleman defeated Arcadia 58-45 in the first round.
The Minden girls defeated North Webster 38-32. The Lady Tiders play Ringgold, a 60-27 winner against Haynesville, in a quarterfinal game at 5.
The Lakeside girls advanced to the semifinals with a 37-27 victory over Lincoln Prep. The Lady Warriors will take on the Ringgold-Minden winner Friday at 5.
In other girls games, Northwood defeated Homer 47-32, Arcadia defeated Benton 56-36 and Gibsland-Coleman edged North DeSoto 33-32.
Northwood plays Arcadia Thursday at 3:45 in a quarterfinal game. Gibsland-Coleman takes on the winner in the semifinals Friday at 3:45.
In other boys games Thursday, Benton defeated Lakeside 63-16, Northwood defeated North Webster 60-39 and Waco Meyer defeated Ringgold.
Benton plays Waco Meyer in a semifinal game Thursday at 6:30.
Kameron Harris and Cameron Parker led the Minden boys with 16 points each. Markavious Johnson added 12.
The Crimson Tide raced to a 23-4 lead after the first quarter. Camden rallied in the second but Minden still led 34-21 at the half.
Brooklyn Jefferson led the Minden girls with 13 points. LeLe Johnson and Parys Gillins scored nine each.
Nazaria Caldwell led North Webster with 23.
The Lady Knights led 19-14 at the half. The Lady Tiders rallied in the third and led 24-22 going into the fourth.
