Minden swept Woodlawn in District 1-4A openers Friday night at Minden.
The Crimson Tide won 75-45. The Lady Tiders won 44-38.
In a District 1-B boys game, Doyline defeated Weston 75-59 at Weston. The Panthers improved to 19-3 overall and 1-1 in district. In the other 1-B game, Simsboro defeated Castor 42-34 at Simsboro.
Doyline hosts Castor (8-11, 0-2) Tuesday
At Minden, Jaiden Franklin led eight Crimson Tide players who scored with 22 points.
Cameron Parker added 16. Kameron Harris had 14. Darnell Morris chipped in 11.
Parker scored nine in the first quarter. Franklin had six and Morris five as Minden jumped out to a 20-9 lead.
Franklin tallied eight in the second quarter and the Tide led 39-22 at the half. Harris and Franklin scored six each in the third as Minden continued to pull away.
Minden continues district play Tuesday at home against Loyola. The Flyers lost to Southwood 50-38 Friday. In the other 1-4A openers, Northwood defeated North DeSoto 54-33 and Bossier defeated Booker T. Washington 64-52.
In the girls game, the Lady Tiders led 13-6 after the first quarter and 24-14 at the half. Minden extended the lead to 38-25 after three quarters.
Woodlawn (9-12) rallied in the fourth but the Lady Knights got no closer than five.
Brooklyn Jefferson led Minden with 15 points and 16 rebounds. She also had seven steals and five assists.
Markeithdra Willis had 12 points, five rebounds and two assists. Shelby Glenn had 11 points, six assists, six steals and five rebounds.
Minden (9-10) hosts Loyola Tuesday. The Lady Flyers lost to Southwood 73-19 Friday. In other 1-4A openers, Northwood defeated North DeSoto 62-36 and Booker T. Washington defeated Bossier 52-35.
In a District 3-2A girls game, Lakeside put up a good fight against Winnfield before falling 46-38 at Winnfield. In a District 1-3A game, North Webster lost to Richwood 65-44 in Monroe.
