High school boys basketball: Minden, Doyline win

The Minden Crimson Tide and Doyline Panthers won Tuesday night.

Minden defeated Loyola 42-34 in Shreveport and Doyline downed North DeSoto 65-58 in Stonewall.

At Loyola, Darnell Morris scored 21 points to lead the Crimson Tide. Carmelo Smith chipped in nine.

The Tide trailed 9-8 after the first quarter. But Minden outscored the Griffins 22-11 over the next two quarters and led 30-20 going into the fourth.

Keller Brown paced Loyola (7-10) with 13 points.

Minden (13-1) is scheduled to visit Benton Friday at 6:30.

At North DeSoto, the Panthers improved to 18-2 with the victory. Doyline is scheduled to play the Griffins (1-5) again Friday, this time at home.
