High school football: Glenbrook crushes Ringgold

Twenty-five seconds into Friday night’s District 1-1A game at Glenbrook, the Apaches led the Ringgold Redskins 9-0.

By the end of the first quarter with a running clock already going, Glenbrook led 44-0. The Apaches went on to win 61-6.

Glenbrook improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in district. Ringgold, which has won more games this season than the last five combined, dropped to 3-4 and 1-3.

The Apaches recorded a safety on the game’s first play. After the kickoff, Glenbrook quickly scored again on a 15-yard run by Landry Powell.

Ringgold came out throwing and Glenbrook’s Nick Kilgore and Connor Bolton picked off passes. It rarely took the Apaches more than one play to put the ball in the end zone after getting possession.

Easton Sanders completed 5-of-7 passes in the game for 125 yards and three touchdowns.

Chase Sentell caught four passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran 52 yards for a touchdown.

Jackson Waller had a 33-yard TD catch.

Eight Apaches carried the ball. Connor Williams had 74 yards on four carries and a touchdown.

Tryston Maus had a 7-yard TD run.

Garrett Brown recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Glenbrook hosts Plain Dealing Friday. The Lions (0-7, 0-4) lost to Magnolia School of Excellence 64-20 Friday night.
