High school football: Glenbrook opens season with rout of Magnolia

The  Glenbrook Apaches made quick work of the Magnolia School of Excellence Mariners in their season opener Friday night in Shreveport.

Glenbrook scored early and often en route to a 58-6 victory.

Six Apaches scored touchdowns.

Seth Mangrum and Jackson Waller scored two each. Darron Hollingsworth, Carson Whitehead, Cade Vining and Ryan Reagan scored one apiece.

The Apaches scored on their first possession. They scored again after forcing a quick turnover.

Glenbrook led 22-0 after the first quarter and 44-0 at the half.

Easton Sanders completed 12 of 18 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown. Waller had six catches for 93 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown. Darron Hollingsworth had four for 47.

Eight Glenbrook players got a chance to run the ball. Mangrum had eight carries for 50 yards, and Walker had 40 on just three.

The Apaches will travel west down I-20 again Friday for a game against Bossier. The Bearkats lost their season opener to North Caddo 37-16.
