The Glenbrook Apaches rolled past the North Caddo Titans 57-33 Friday night at Glenbrook.
Glenbrook improved to 2-3 with its second straight victory. North Caddo dropped to 0-5.
The game was the Apaches’ homecoming.
Junior Darron Hollingsworth continued his outstanding season. He caught two touchdown passes from Braxton Tibbitt, returned a punt for a touchdown and had an interception.
Hollingsworth has five touchdown receptions in the two victories.
Senior Ryan Reagan had two interceptions and scored a rushing touchdown and two-point conversion.
Juniors Carson Whitehead and Kleaton Davis both had big nights running the ball and scored touchdowns. Braysen Festervan caught a touchdown pass.
Tibbitt threw three touchdown passes and had some big runs.
If there was a negative for the Apaches, it was that four of North Caddo’s touchdowns came after turnovers. The other came on a kickoff return. Both teams hurt themselves with penalties.
Glenbrook got off to a great start. The Apaches recovered a fumble on the North Caddo 20 on the opening kickoff.
Reagan scored on a short run and Nolan Still scored a two-point conversion.
North Caddo tied it at 8 after recovering a fumble.
The Apaches answered with a 65-yard touchdown drive, taking the lead for good on a 15-yard pass from Tibbitt to Festervan and Sam Scroggs’ first extra-point kick.
Hollingsworth’s interception and return set up Glenbrook’s third touchdown, a 5-yard run by Whitehead.
The Apaches led 22-8 after the first quarter.
Reagan’s first interception came early in the second quarter but Glenbrook fumbled it right back to the Titans.
North Caddo took advantage, cutting the deficit to 22-15 on a 17-yard pass.
But Tibbitt hit Hollingsworth for 45 yards and a touchdown with 5:05 left in the half.
Hollingsworth returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown a few minutes later and Glenbrook led 35-15 at the half.
The Apaches scored on their first possession of the second half on a short run by Louie Collins. Scroggs’ PAT extended the lead to 42-15.
But North Caddo returned the kickoff for a touchdown. The Titans then returned an interception for a touchdown to get within 42-27 with just over six minutes left in the third quarter.
The Apaches answered with a 70-yard touchdown drive. Whitehead carried six times and Davis scored on a 4-yard run and Glenbrook led 49-27 going into the fourth quarter.
Reagan’s second interception led to the Apaches’ final touchdown, a 20-yard pass from Tibbitt to Hollingsworth.
Glenbrook opens District 1-1A play Thursday night against defending non-select Division IV champion Haynesville. The Golden Tornado (3-1) defeated Union Parish 48-27 Thursday night.
