Lakeside and North Webster both lost Friday night, but the Knights and Warriors are both still in the playoff hunt going into the final week of the regular season.
Lakeside fell to District 3-2A leader Mansfield 39-0 at home. The Wolverines (7-2, 3-0) clinched at least a share of the district championship.
North Webster fell to Many 28-12 in Ann-district game on the road.
Lakeside dropped to 4-5 overall and 0-3 in district. The Warriors are No. 28 in the non-select Division III power rankings.
The top 28 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.
Lakeside closes the regular season Friday at Winnfield (2-7, 0-3). The Tigers lost to Red River 58-36 Friday nights night.
North Webster dropped to 3-6 with its fifth straight loss.
The Knights did generate some offense after scoring just three touchdowns in the previous four games. They stayed with the much-improved Tigers throughout the game.
North Webster is one spot above Lakeside at No. 27 in the power rankings.
The Knights close the regular season at home against Bastrop (1-8). The Rams’ victory was a forfeit. They are winless on the field.
