The Minden Crimson Tide rolled past Southwood 42-0 in the regular-season finale Friday night at W.W. Williams Sr. Stadium.
The Tide (5-5) will host a first-round playoff game Friday. Minden is currently No. 12 in the non-select Division III power rankings power rankings.
The final rankings and first-round pairings will be announced Sunday. If the rankings on the LHSAA website Saturday afternoon hold, Minden will play Wossman (4-6). The Tide Wildcats defeated the Tide in the first round last year.
Minden got off to a fast start against Southwood and led 21-0 after the first quarter.
Caylien Aubrey scored the first two touchdowns on runs of 2 and 22 yards. Lucas Owens Jr. scored on a 3-yard run.
Aubrey went 72 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter after catching a pass from Hudson Brown.
Minden led 28-0 at the half.
The Tide added two more touchdowns in the third quarter. Brown completed a 52-yard pass to Jaden Johnson and Owens sprinted 47 yards to close the scoring.
Braxton Glover was 6-for-6 on extra-point kicks.
Brown completed 4-of-7 passes for 196 yards, per stats kept for the KBEF-FM broadcast. Johnson had a big night with three catches for 124 yards.
The Tide rushed for 185 yards. Owens had a team-high 49 on just four carries. Aubrey had 34 on three.
Minden held Southwood (3-6) to 115 total yards on 50 plays. The Cowboys had just 29 yards rushing in 24 attempts.
