The Minden Lady Tiders and Lakeside Lady Warriors picked up victories Thursday night.
Minden defeated Homer 50-46 at Homer and Lakeside downed Plain Dealing 49-43 at Lakeside.
Brooklyn Jefferson scored 23 points to lead Minden. She hit two 3-pointers and scored 12 points in the first quarter to help the Lady Tiders build a 19-11 lead.
Homer rallied in the second quarter and led 26-24 at the half.
Freshman Parys Gillins scored eight of her 12 points in the third quarter and Minden grabbed a 36-34 lead.
Jefferson scored five points in the fourth. Alexi Hatter scored four. LeLe Johnson and Zanterrica Moore also scored to help the Lady Tiders get the victory.
Minden (7-5) next faces Green Oaks Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. on the first day of the 35th annual Brown Service Center Minden Holiday Classic.
Jaliya Franklin led Homer with 16 points. Homer plays Red River at 4 Wednesday in the first round.
Lakeside improved to 2-6 with its victory. The Lady Warriors play Camden Fairview, Ark., Wednesday at 4 in the first round.
