High school golf: Glenbrook fourth after first round of Division IV boys state tournament

Glenbrook is in fourth place after Monday’s first round of the Division IV state tournament.

The Apaches shot a 51-over par 339 on the par-72 Farm D’Allie Golf Club course in Carencro.

Cedar Creek leads at 319 followed by Sacred Heart at 331 and Castor at 337.

Louie Collins and Jaxon Branch led Glenbrook. Both shot 84 and are tied for 19th. Cason Gibson shot an 85, Dalton Harber an 86 and Tate Fegley a 94.

Berchman’s Academy’s Ivan Popp leads at 4-under 68. First Baptist’s Landon Lotz and Grand Lake’s Luke Wainwright are tied for second at 73.

North DeSoto’s Christian Whitlock shot an 83 in the first round of the Division III tournament at The Wetlands Golf Course and is tied for 27th.

Ascension Catholic’s Noah Chauvin leads at 4-under 68. Catholic-New Iberia’s Meyer Schopp is second at 74.

Both tournaments are scheduled to conclude Tuesday.
