High school soccer: Minden girls open season with victory

The Minden Lady Tiders opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Haughton Monday night at Freedom Fields.

Cameron Smith scored the match’s lone goal on an assist from Kaydree Kemp.

Kylie Ryan got the shutout in goal.

Minden faces Huntington in the first round of Haughton’s Cranberry Classic tournament Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at Bossier’s Memorial Stadium.

Haughton won the boys game 4-0.

Minden hosts Evangel Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday.
