High school softball: Doyline, Glenbrook post victories

The Doyline Lady Panthers and Glenbrook Lady Apaches were winners Thursday.

Doyline defeated Loyola 9-5 at Doyline. In a District 1-1A game, Glenbrook defeated Arcadia 42-0 at Arcadia.

At Doyline, seven Lady Panthers combined for nine hits. Lanie Gates went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Keily Sumlin had a double.

Sariyah Gill gave up only four hits. She struck out seven and walked three.

Doyline improved to 8-7.

At Arcadia, 16 Glenbrook players made plate appearances.

Vivian Still went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple, double and seven RBI.

Gabi Brown and Sydney Lea had three hits each. Kynzie Smith, Rebecca Mosley, Emma Garner, Amelia Lott and Chloe Gregg all had two hits.

Hadley Haynes had four RBI. Gregg, Savannah Mangrum and Gracie Heard had three apiece.

Mosley and Garner combined on a no-hitter.

Glenbrook improved to 13-9 overall and 3-0 in district. The Lady Apaches can wrap up the title with a victory over Haynesville on Monday.

Glenbrook is scheduled to play Montgomery Friday at 4 in the Quitman tournament.
