High school softball: Lakeside rolls past Castor

The Lakeside Lady Warriors defeated Castor 16-0 in three innings at home Friday.

Lakeside improved to 15-16 with one game left in the regular season. The Lady Warriors are scheduled to play Captain Shreve at home Tuesday at 6:30.

According to GeauxPreps.com, Lakeside is No. 11 in the non-select Division IV power rankings. The No. 7-16 teams in the final rankings host-first-round playoff games. Official pairings will be announced Wednesday.

Pitcher Hallie Sutton went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Mackenzie McCoy went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Emily Jones went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI.

Laiklyn Squyres had three RBI. Sutton pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts and two walks.

Elsewhere, North Webster fell to Bastrop 11-8 in a District 1-3A game at home.

Anna Ray went 4-for-5. Kendall Temple went 4-for-4 with two doubles. Anekah Coleman went 3-for-5 with a double.

Kerianne Allen had a triple and two RBI. Adryana White had a double and two RBI. Madison Morgan had a double. 

North Webster (8-9, 3-2) is scheduled to close the regular season Monday at Richwood at 4:30.

The Lady Knights are No. 18 in the non-select Division III power rankings.
