High school softball: Minden rallies past Doyline

The Minden Lady Tiders defeated the Doyline Lady Panthers 18-13 Wednesday at Doyline.

Doyline led 11-7 through five innings. Minden rallied with eight in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Minden’s Kylie Ferguson went 2-for-4. Lizzie Balkom had two hits, including a double.

Lindsay Ryan had a triple. Gracie Sparks had a double and three RBI. Nola Lange had a double and two RBI.

Kaelyn Williams and Roikia Dotie had one double each. Ryan allowed two hits and struck out four in three innings of relief.

Doyline’s Lanie Gates went 4-for-5 with a double. KJ Johnson went 3-for-4 with a double. Sariyah Gill had two hits and two RBI.

Raelyn Pease had a double. Elizabeth Wright had two RBI.

Minden (10-11) entered the game No. 17 in the non-select Division II power rankings. The No. 7-16 teams in the final rankings host first-round playoff games.

The Lady Tiders have five regular-season games left starting Thursday at Northwood at 5. 

Doyline (11-5) entered the game No. 9 in the Class B power rankings. The No. 1-12 teams in the final rankings receive first-round byes in the playoffs.

The Lady Panthers visit Loyola Monday at 4:30 then close the regular season with a home doubleheader against Dodson Tuesday at 5:30.
