High school track and field: Doyline’s Harris continues winning ways against tough competition in Raider Relays

Doyline senior Izayla Harris remained undefeated on the track against some tough competition in the Raider Relays hosted by Huntington Thursday at Lee Hedges Stadium.

Harris won the 100, 200 and 400 meters and finished second in the triple jump.

Harris dueled with Huntington standout Demetria Harris in the 100, 200 and triple jump. Izayla won in a photo finish in the 100 with a time of 12.014 seconds. Demetria ran a 12.019.

Izayla won by a wider margin in the 200 with a time of 25.01. Demetria ran a 25.23.

Demetria won the triple jump with a leap of 36 feet to Izayla’s 34-4.

Demetria Harris won the 100 hurdles and finished second in long jump in the Class 4A state meet last season.

Izayla won the 400 in 1:00.51. She finished .55 ahead of Huntington’s Janiyah Dotson.

Glenbrook’s Mattison Fowler finished second in the girls 1,600 in 6:28.73. Calvary Baptist’s Anna Sarkozi won in 6:20.49.
