High school track and field: Knights, Lady Knights runners-up in North Webster Invitational

North Webster finished runner-up in the boys and girls divisions in the North Webster Invitational Thursday in Springhill.

The meet was the first of the outdoor season.

North Webster scored 135 points in both the boys and girls divisions. 

Haynesville won both with 163 points in the boys division and 156.5 in the girls.

Lakeside was third in both divisions with 120 points in the boys and 98 in the girls. Minden finished fourth in both with 103 in the boys and 81 in the girls.

Minden sophomore Porter Neal and Haynesville’s Isaiah Washington were double winners in the boys division. 

Neal won the 800 in 2:31.39 and the 1,600 in 5:48.19.

Washington took the 300 hurdles in 45.96 and the triple jump with a leap of 40-5.

North Webster freshman Jkobe Lawson won the 100 in 11.28 and finished second in the 200 in 23.09. He finished just .03 behind Haynesville’s Alonzo Jackson in the 200.

Lakeside’s Brandon Bell won the 3,200 in 14;03.61. 

Minden won the 4X400 relay in 3:47.22 and the 4X800 in 10:15.

North Webster won the 4X200 relay in 1:36.74 and finished second in the 4X100 in 45.50. Haynesville won the 4X100 in 45.04.

North Webster also finished second in 4X800 in 10:43.

North Webster sophomore Cameron Lewis took the high jump. He, Plain Dealing’s Eli James and Haynesville’s Jackson all cleared 5-4. Lewis won on fewer misses.

Minden junior Cameron Mitchell took the long jump with a leap of 20-04.

North Webster juniors Chase McKenzie and Gavin Marshall finished 1-2 in the pole vault. McKenzie cleared 10-0 and Marshall 9-6.

Lakeside senior Connor Wood and sophomore Jamarion Evans finished 1-2 in the shot put with tosses of 107-1 and 103-7, respectively.

Lakeside junior Chad Davis captured the javelin with a throw of 134-07.

Other runners-up in individual events from parish schools were Lakeside senior Omero Urbina (400), North Webster junior Avante Curry (300 hurdles), Lakeside’s Tarmarjah Ferrell (triple jump) and Minden senior Kielyn Combs (shot put). 

North Webster sophomore Amiyah White and Haynesville junior Zyariah Mosi were double winners in the girls division.

White swept the hurdles, winning the 100 in 20.15 and the 300 in 56.23.

Mosi took the long jump with a 14-10 and the triple jump with a 29-11.

North Webster senior Nevaeh Watts and junior Aniyah Gibson finished 1-2 in the 100 . Watts ran a 12.87 and Gibson a 13.29.

Minden sophomore Shamijah Jefferson took the 400 in 1:09.16.

North Webster freshman Bailee Lyons won the 800 in 3:11.27.

Lakeside freshman Iris Aguinaga captured the 1,600 in 7:41.24.

Lakeside sophomore Madison McGraw won the 3,200 in 18:39.

North Webster won the 4X100 relay in 51.69 and the 4X800 in 12:28. Minden took the 4X400 in 4:56.15.

Lakeside sophomore McKenzie Chase took the pole vault with a 7-6.

Other runner-up from parish schools in individual events were Minden freshman Alexi Hatter (200), Minden junior Bradi Lee (800), North Webster freshman SherAsia Mendenhall (1,600), Lakeside Jalacia Roberson (300 hurdles), North Webster freshman De’Maiyh Moore (long jump), North Webster sophomore Paige Ware (triple jump and North Webster sophomore Allison Lorenz (pole vault).
