High school track and field: Minden’s 4X100 relay team qualifies for Class 4A boys state meet

The Minden 4X100-meter relay team qualified for the Class 4A boys state meet with a third-place finish in the Region I-4A meet Thursday at Northwestern State.

The foursome of Lucas Owens, Jaden Johnson, Ian Clark and Kaiden Shine ran a 44.20, just .02 behind second-place Leesville. Washington-Marion won with a 44.20.

The top three finishers in each individual event and relay qualified for the state meet. Fourth-place finishers will serve as alternate in case any of the qualifiers are unable to compete.

Jakellson Thompson finished fourth in the 110 hurdles in 16.81. West Ouachita’s Grayson Knighten was third in 16.44.
