Minden’s Jonathan Bradford won the discus in the District 1-4A boys meet Thursday at North DeSoto.
Bradford’s winning throw went 126 feet, 7 3/4 inches. Northwood’s Chris Graham finished second with a 114-4 1/2.
Minden’s Porter Neal and Brayden Britton posted runner-up finishes.
Neal was second in the 400 meters in 50.45 seconds, just .13 slower than Huntington’s Preston Summage.
Britton took second in the 110 hurdles in 16.55. North DeSoto’s Dale Howard won in 15.82.
Neal, Carmelo Smith, Christian Lofton and Kaiden Shine combined to finish second in the 4X400 relay in 3:33.58. North DeSoto won in 3:30.64.
The top four individuals and relay teams in each event qualified for the Region I-4A meet next Thursday at Lee Hedges Stadium in Shreveport.
Britton also qualified in the 300 hurdles with a fourth-place finish. Lofton finished fourth in the 1,600. Denarius Crowe was fourth in the discus.
Minden finished fifth with 55 points. North DeSoto won the district championship with 150. Huntington was second with 127.
The Minden foursome of Mia Feaster, Jollee Dison, Bradi Lee and Terrika Hendon finished second in the 4X800 in 11:40.33 in the girls division. North DeSoto won in 11:18.64.
Kynnadi Brown took third in the shot put with a 32-4. Woodlawn’s SheLunda Brown won with a 35-5.
North DeSoto won the district title with 174 points, edging runner-up Huntington by two.
