High school track and field: Minden’s Neal qualifies for Class 4A state meet

Minden’s Porter Neal qualified for the Class 4A state meet with a third-place finish in the boys 400 meters in the Region I-4A meet Thursday in Shreveport.

Neal ran a 49.83. Neville’s Jaxon Parker won in 48.53.

Neal was Minden’s lone qualifier for the state meet, which is Saturday, May 4, at LSU.

The top three individuals and relay teams in each event qualified.

Brayden Britton finished sixth in the boys 110 hurdles. Jonathan Bradford was sixth in the discus.

Minden finished sixth in the boys 4X400 relay.
