High school track and field: Three Doyline athletes qualify for Class B state meet

Three Doyline athletes qualified for the state meet with top-three finishes in the Region I-B meet Monday at Quitman.

Jonas Florence won the boys discus for the year in a row with a throw of 118 feet, 7.5 inches. Choudrant’s Sawyer Cunningham finished second with a 105-7.25.

Zach Moreno was a close second in the boys 3,200. His time was 12 minutes, 4.58 seconds. Converse’s Clayton Rivers won in 12:01.60.

Zach Normand finished third in the boys triple jump with a distance of 38-10. Castor’s DeAndre Clark won with a 43-6.5.

The Class B state meet is Thursday, May 8, at LSU.
