Fresh roadway striping is visible along Homer Road as a $7.2 million Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development project continues along US 79 through Minden. The 7.6-mile project stretches from Main Street in Minden to the Claiborne Parish line and includes full-depth roadway repairs, concrete patching, milling, new asphalt paving, and fresh striping.The work is expected to be completed in late 2026, weather permitting.
The Homer Road project is among several road improvements planned or underway in Minden. City officials have also identified Joel Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Winford Street, Clerk Street, Country Club Circle from Drake Drive to Germantown Road, and Sheppard Street for repairs.
