Honoring Leadership: Past, Present, and What’s Coming

by David Specht

In a world where leadership is more critical than ever, it’s encouraging to see an organization so deeply committed to developing and recognizing it at every stage. The Greater Minden Chamber has long been a catalyst for cultivating talent, and the upcoming “Cheers to the 15: Past & Present” event is another powerful example.

On September 17, Pine Hills Country Club will host a special reunion of past honorees of the Chamber’s 15 Under 40 Awards. It promises to be an evening of reconnection, recognition, and celebration. For many of us who have watched this program grow over the years, it’s a moment to pause and appreciate its impact.

The 15 Under 40 Awards are more than just a plaque on a shelf. They are a recognition of young professionals who go above and beyond in their work, their leadership, and their service to the community. They remind us that the future of our region is bright—and already in capable hands.

I’ve seen firsthand how many past recipients have continued to make waves in business, education, government, and nonprofits. They’ve led with integrity, passion, and a heart for Minden and Webster Parish. Some have gone on to serve on boards, run for office, start businesses, or return to mentor the next class of leaders.

The Chamber deserves a standing ovation for continuing this tradition year after year. By highlighting and encouraging leadership early, they’re planting seeds that will yield fruit for decades. Leadership development doesn’t happen by accident. It takes intentionality, support, and a platform, and the Chamber provides all three.

To all past and present honorees: thank you for setting the bar high. To the community: let’s continue supporting these leaders and the organization that champions them.

Let’s raise a glass, not just to the Class of 2025, but to the spirit of leadership that runs strong in Minden.
