Funeral services for Howard Eugene Carpenter will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Dee Anders and Rev. Kerry Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Eugene was born March 3, 1933 in Telephone, Texas and entered into rest April 28, 2019 in Minden, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his son, Leslie Eugene Carpenter, granddaughter, Kimberly Washington, great granddaughter, Bryanna Moxley, great grandson Noah Matthew Caswell, four brothers, and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Carpenter of Minden, daughters, Wanda Washington and husband Karl of Minden, Shirley Keen and husband Kenneth of Minden, Janet Caswell and husband Edward of Minden and Janice Hood and husband Ronnie of Atlanta, Texas, sister Flawrence Summerall and husband Ed of Ida, grandchildren, Bill Washington and wife Tammy, Angela Finley, Misty Cox, Chris Caswell and wife Sarah, Kim Caswell and fiancé Doug Baronett, Stacy Hood and husband Terry, and Jonathan Hood, eleven great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Bill Washington, Chris Caswell, Jonathan Hood, Allen Gaston, Rodney Dooly, and Guy Schoolfield.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Gaston, Kade Hood, and Rudy Posey.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Meadowview Nursing Home.
