Funeral services for Joe B. Whaley will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Richard Methvin and Rev. Chet Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends 9 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the church.

Joe was born May 5, 1932 in Emerson, Arkansas and entered into rest August 19, 2018 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was the youngest of six children, was raised on the family farm and attended Walkerville School. Joe and his brother Elvin began their business in 1950 “Whaley Brothers Masonry.” Joe was an active member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church where he has served on many church committees. Joe’s greatest achievement has been his honesty. He followed God, loved his family and his church and has truly had a blessed life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; C.W. and Cora Whaley, granddaughter; Denise Whaley, brothers; Calvin, Ervis, Bernard, and Elvin, and sister; Doris Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years; Emma Lou Whaley of Minden, son; Toby Whaley and wife Susan of Minden, daughter; Cynthia Whaley Maranto and husband Donnie of Haughton, grandchildren; Lori Stratton, Rachel Sitter, and Stacy Manor, and great-grandchildren; James Stratton, Karli Sitter, Riley Sitter, Chase Manor and Sydney Manor.

Pallbearers will be; Shane Sitter, Shawn Manor, Craig Stratton, Charles Woods, Norris Sills, and Gil Johnson
