John was born January 11, 1961, in Homer, Louisiana and entered into rest February 14, 2022, in Minden, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents John William Adkins Sr. and Cecil Mae Hodges Adkins, and his sister, Cynthia Adkins Wilson.
He is survived by his sons, David Burditt of Princeton and Matt Mathews of Minden, niece, Tara Whitlow Smith and husband Trey and their children, Alyssa, Mallory, and Noah of Ruston, Louisiana.
