The Minden Junior Service League’s annual coat drive is wrapping up this week, and organizers say they are close to meeting their goal of collecting 341 coats for children in Webster Parish.
The final day to donate is Friday, October 31. Coats may be dropped off at All Hours Fitness or the Minden Police Department, both of which offer 24-hour drop-off boxes. Donations are also being accepted at Geaux Fresh from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
As of this week, the group still needs 6 women’s adult small, 1 women’s adult medium, 14 men’s adult small, and 9 men’s adult medium coats to reach their target. Both new and gently used coats are being accepted.
For those who prefer to give monetarily, a $20 donation covers the cost of one new coat.
The Junior Service League hosts the coat drive each year to provide “the gift of warmth” to local children in need. Donations collected during the drive are distributed throughout Webster Parish.
