Karen’s Korner,
Just a few more days until Christmas. Wow, time sure does fly when you are having fun, doesn’t it? I hope you are looking forward to the holidays and that you will be able to spend time with friends and family. It is always such a festive time for many, and yet not so festive for others.
We certainly need to be kind and considerate to all those we come in contact with during this time of the year. We never know what another person is going through.
Kindness doesn’t cost a penny. It is defined in the Cambridge dictionary as follows: “The quality of being generous, helpful, and caring about others.”
I heard an elderly gentleman say that “Kindness can change a life, because it changed mine!” What a beautiful sentiment.
Kindness is a direct reflection of the heart of an individual. Our heart is regarded as the center of a person’s thoughts and emotions, especially love, compassion, or loyalty.
My Grandmother taught me to be kind because she always said is was a gift to others, and that it would almost always come back to me, as a gift as well. So, when someone is kind to me, it is truly like a gift.
Christmas time is when we give gifts to our family, children, friends, neighbors, and others because it is such a special tradition. So this year, give the gift of kindness to all those you meet…it could just change your life…..it did mine.
Enjoy the upcoming days and remember the reason for the season. The special gift of the Christ Child. What a gift of eternal kindness!
