Karen’s Korner: Christmas Party

by Minden Press-Herald

Karen’s Korner,

We had a wonderful Christmas Party this past Friday at the Webster Parish Council on Aging! We had a great time of fun and fellowship. We had over one hundred in attendance. We celebrated the Christmas holidays with a delicious lunch of ham, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, and pecan pie. It doesn’t get much better than that. There were numerous door prizes and a few surprises along the way. We certainly want to thank all of the community businesses for donating the door prizes for our seniors! You are the best!

Frosty the Snowman and Santa were there as well. Our entertainment came all the way from Dallas, Texas, to perform the Christmas classics with their beautiful voices and musical selections. The Triple Notes, composed of DeeAnne Meece, Julie Free, and Sandy Savage, are members of the Dallas singing group, Noteworthy. They sing throughout the state of Texas in many varied venues. They are well known for their close harmonies and outstanding patriotic showmanship. They are truly beautiful ladies with beautiful hearts.

I think everyone enjoyed the festivities. I know I did. It was so much fun seeing our seniors having a great Christmas celebration.

We would love to have you come to our Council on Aging. If you are 60 and above, we would love to have you in attendance. We have numerous weekly activities, including bingo which is a “biggie” here, and a well -balanced lunch every day, Monday through Friday. We open at 8:00 am.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call or contact us at the Webster Parish Council on Aging, at 318-371-3056!
