Karen’s Korner,
I am realizing more and more how quickly time passes. It is already August! Fall is upon us and before you know it, Christmas will be here.
I know as a Senior Adult, that the days seem to fly by. I look back on when I was a student at Minden High School, and just how much fun it was. It seems like it was just yesterday, not over 50 years ago. Goodness, that seems like a lifetime, and for some it is.
As seniors we need to enjoy every moment that we live. We need to be active and still have those fun times we did many years ago! If we are fortunate enough, we still have some of those high school friends, and that fellowship is very sweet.
At the Webster Parish Council on Aging, we offer many activities for our seniors. We meet daily, Monday through Friday, for bingo, which is a big hit with everyone, have a great lunch, and fellowship with others. Everyone sixty and above is welcome.
We often have entertainment and seasonal activities! We have had special activities from time to time like Line Dancing, Chair Aerobics, Art Classes, Crafts Class, and Computer Introduction Classes. We are always open to suggestions to meet the needs of all our seniors.
If you are interested, come by and check us out. We are located at 1482 Sheppard Street, here in Minden. Our number is 318-371-3056. We would love to see you.
Take advantage of the time you have and enjoy! Life is too short!
