May is Older Americans’ Month. There are several activities scheduled for the next three weeks.

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, we will be working with the Minden Medical Center and hosting the 2026 Senior Prom. The theme this year is “Together, Under the Stars.” It will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, here at The Webster Parish Council on Aging. There has always been a great crowd of seniors and a lot of fun and fellowship for all. Mr. Bruce Lee will provide the music for this special occasion.

On Friday, May 8, 2026, we will be recognizing our Mothers here at the Council on Aging. We always celebrate Mother’s Day! This year Mother’s Day will be on Sunday, May 10th. We always want to be mindful of their love and the sacrifices they have made for all of us.

The Veteran’s Meet and Greet will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 – 10:00 am in the exercise room, here at the COA. We are having a really great time with our Webster Parish Veterans. We are always happy to provide a great place for them to meet. It is a privilege to work with the Webster Prish Veteran’s Safety Net Coalition, as they work to empower veterans with support and access to resources, ensuring they lead secure and fulfilling lives.

On May 27, 2026, we will have our Council on Aging booth at the Senior Health and Fitness Day. It will be at the Minden Recreation Center, on Recreation Drive in Minden, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Seniors 50 and above are warmly invited to join in on the fun. Lunch will be provided! Sponsors are the Minden Medical Center, Webster Parish Veterans Safety Net, the Webster Parish Council on Aging, The Columns of Germantown, and Town and Country Health and Rehab.

There is so much going on in May. Join the fun!
