Lady Knights fall to Lady Bearcats

RUSTON – The North Webster Lady Knights are off to a solid start under first year head coach Alyssa Ford.
Someone forgot to tell the Ruston Lady Bearcats though, as they put up 17 runs in a 17-7 loss for the Lady Knights.

North Webster put up three runs in the first and added another run in the second, but Ruston countered with a six-run fourth inning and put up seven more in the sixth to sieze a commanding lead and earn the win.

Lindsey O’Neal had a big day for North Webster, going 1-2 with a double and two RBIs. Shay Smith had another two-hit game, going 2-3 with a pair of singles.

Tiffani Winkler and Caitlyn Maples had RBI singles for the Lady Knights and Aubryn Rasberry and Brianna Murray added singles.

Madeline Farley was the losing pitcher, giving up 10 hits and striking out one Lady Bearcat. Lindsey O’Neal came in and pitched two innings for North Webster.

Next up for the Lady Knights is full weekend of softball in the Johnny Downs Tournament in Alexandria. North Webster’s first game in the tournament will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Sacred Heart.
