The Lady Tiders used a 27-2 run in the third quarter to polish off North DeSoto on Friday night with a 68-34 district win at The Palace.
“To start the game, we weren’t really being ourselves on defense,” Minden head coach Jacob Brown said. “But in the third quarter we picked it up on that end, got in the passing lanes, and finished around the basket.”
Minden improves to 23-3. and 7-1 in district play.
Destini Powell continued her hot shooting streak and led Minden with 21 points. Derrica Gilbert scored ten of her 17 points in the second quarter to help the Tiders extend their lead. Tayler Banks added 11 points.
“Tayler got in the passing lanes in the third quarter and made big plays,” Brown said.
Minden plays next against BTW on Tuesday night at home.
