by Minden Press-Herald

The Minden High boys and girls soccer teams were at home to play their fourth home game in-a-row Tuesday night under the lights.

It was another cold night at The Pit, but the teams were red-hot and ready to face off against the Southwood Cowboys and Lady Cowboys.

Here are the results from an exciting night on the pitch.

Boys

In a thriller, the Minden boys tied with Southwood, 3-3. The Tide trailed 1-0 at halftime and 3-0 with 20 minutes to play, but Minden mounted a wild comeback, scoring three times in those 20 minutes, with two goals coming in the final seven minutes.

Justin McCready, Bobby Moorman and Wesley Dennis netted goals for the Tide.

Girls

In the girls game, the Minden Lady Tiders were able to pull out the victory over the Lady Cowboys, 2-1.

Minden went into halftime up 1-0 thanks to an Emily Frye goal.

Not far into the second half, Southwood equalized to tie the game at 1-1, but Minden’s Brooke Ensminger found herself open in front of the net in the final minutes and scored the game-winning goal.

The Tide and Lady Tiders have big games next Tuesday against North DeSoto on the road.
