The Lakeside Warriors took part in the Scott Pine Memorial wrestling tournament at Airline High School over the weekend, finishing seventh out of 16 teams.
The Warriors were the smallest school to compete, finishing above several larger schools.
“We were very competitive,” Lakeside wrestling coach Mike Welch said. “We finished ahead of some big schools so I’m very pleased overall.”
Luke Griffith took first place in the 220 pound weight division. John Watson finished fourth in the 138 pound weight class, winning three of his five matches on the day.
Thomas Lambert also finished fourth in the 170 pound weight class. Lambert wrestled four times, winning two matches, with one of his losses coming to an all-state wrestler from Huntington.
