The NSU State Pre-CC meet gives runners the opportunity to run on the same state course they will traverse on November 16. Lakeside’s runners were able to get the experience of running against tough competition on the winding state course.
Junior Alisa Lander, the defending State 2A CC Champion, ran another excellent race. Her 18:24 trailed only Senior Sara Funderburk of Parkway who won with a time of 18:08.
Kerrigan Zachary was the 79th finisher at 22:54. Other Lady Warrior runners were: Angelina Futch (24:10; 113th); Egypt Anderson (24:29; 124th); Kaylee Davis (24:46; 135th); Tynia Joiner (25:27; 154th); and Alaina Stiles (37:05; 238th). Lakeside finished 11th out of 21 in team scoring.
Junior Cody Robinson led the Warrior guys running a 16:41 which gave him eighth place. Jacob Hammons of Parkway won the race at 16:15. Tyler Davis ran a 18:11 for 46th. Logan Bailey recorded a 19:36 for 93rd. Finishing 164th and 194th were Austin Nunn and Jeremiah Brown with times of 22:32 and 25:39 respectively. Lakeside placed 16th out of 24 teams.
Saturday, Oct. 31, the Warriors will host the Ant Hill Classic at the Minden Rec Complex beginning at 9 a.m. 14 teams are expected to compete.
