Celebration of life services for LaWanda LaShay Mitchell will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at Mt. Calm Baptist Church with the Rev. T. A. Knapp officiating. Interment will follow at the Sheppard Street Cemetery.
LaWanda Mitchell was born Sept. 12, 1975 in Shreveport to Clarice Mitchell Shyne and Danny Shyne. She departed this earthly life on Sept. 5, 2017. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ida B. Frazier and Tommy Lee Frazier; paternal grandparents, Dorothy Shyne and Joe Watts; uncles, David Andrews, Wynn Shyne, Robert Rice, Willie E. Mitchell, and John Willie Mitchell.
LaWanda leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Clarice Shyne of Minden; father, Danny Shyne of Minden; two sons, Rhyeco Mitchell and Antonio Mitchell, both of Minden; one daughter, Sha’Toski Mitchell of Minden; one grandchild, Jaxyn Miitchell of Minden; two brothers, Raymone E. Mitchell of Penscola, FL and Billy D, Mitchell (LaTasha) of Minden; one sister, LaTasha D. Shyne (Willie) of Minden; uncles, Almer Mitchell of Houston and Gregory Shyne (Ada) of Minden; aunts, Wanda Hawkins (Freddie) of Cotton Valley; great aunt, Gloria Brantley of Minden; stepsister, Shemeka Oliver of Minden; special friend, Antonio Franklin; and a host cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 15 in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Services are entrusted to Kennon’s Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to [email protected].
