Local elections taking place in the Louisiana Gubernatorial Primary on Oct. 14

Election day for the Louisiana Gubernatorial Primary is coming up on October 14. Below you will find a list of candidates who are running for the various local elections throughout the parish. 

For State Senator 36th Senatorial District, Adam Bass (R) and Robert Mills (R) are running for this seat.

For Louisiana State Representative District 10, Wayne McMahen (R) is running unopposed. 

For BESE District 4, Paige Hoffpauir (R), Stacey Melerine (R), and Emma Shepard (D) are running for this seat.

For Webster Parish Sheriff, Jason Parker (R) is running unopposed. 

For Webster Parish Clerk of Court, Holli Vining (NP) is running unopposed. 

For Webster Parish Coroner, Allen Mosley (R) is running unopposed. 

For Webster Parish Assessor, Sharon Duncan (NP) and Denise Edwards (NP) are running for this seat. 

For the Webster Parish Police Jury, those running unopposed include Bruce Blanton (I)  in District 1, Allen Gilbert (I) in District 2, Randy Thomas (R) in District 4, Jim Bonsall (D) in District 6, Steve Lemmons (R) in District 7, Beverly Kennon (D) in District 9, Steve Ramsey (D) in District 11, and Adam Lee (R) in District 12.

In District 3, Patricia A. McMurray (D) and Daniel G. Thomas (R) are running for this seat.

In District 5, Mike Griffith (R), George Rice (D), Willie Robinson (D), and Ricky Thomas (D) are running for this seat. 

In District 8, Nancy Hines (I) and Winky Newer (D) are running for this seat. 

In District 10, Latanya “Tan” Grigsby (D) and Darrell Morris (R) are running for this seat. 

For Justice of the Peace District 3, Adam Wright is unopposed.

For Constable Justice of the Peace District 3, Tara Wright is unopposed.

For the Aldermen of the Town of Cullen, Lacandy Gipson (D) and Terry Lewis (NP) are running for this seat. 

Election day will be taking place on October 14. Early voting will be taking place September 30 through October 7, with the deadline to request an absentee ballot ending on October 10.
