Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Louie Willard Maxey, Jr., Vietnam veteran who served from 1969-1972, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Ringgold, with Bro. Greg Hurst and Bro. Chris Beshea officiating. Interment will follow at Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin.

Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Miller Pioneer Funeral Home in Minden.

Willard was born Oct. 21, 1948, in Minden, and entered into rest Nov. 3, 2014, in Shreveport.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Louie W. Maxey Sr. and Thelma Maxey; brother, Robert Maxey; and sister, Frieda Watson.

He is survived by his sisters, Darlene Woodall of Jamestown, Gloria Strachan of Minden and Debbie Patton of Springhill; brothers, Randall Maxey of Sibley, Larry Maxey of Minden; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
