The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (La DOTD) is set to introduce two left-turn signals at critical intersections along Homer Road in Minden. The affected intersections are the Fort Street intersection (Brookshires) and the Fincher Road intersection (Walgreens), both identified for a history of left-turn-related incidents.
La DOTD is currently preparing the necessary equipment for this modification. As part of the safety initiative, the traffic-light timings will be adjusted along the stretch from the Broadway/Homer Road intersection to the Cline Street/Homer Road intersection. This measure aims to ensure a seamless traffic flow while addressing safety concerns at the specified intersections.
Engineer Brandon Greco from La DOTD stated, “Our crews are currently testing our equipment to make sure everything is working properly before we install the new turn arrows. We are looking to get both intersections done and timings for the whole corridor updated before Christmas.”
