BATON ROUGE, La. — Secretary of State Nancy Landry is pleased to announce that the Old Governor’s Mansion will host a four-part series on Louisiana political history with former Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne. Dardenne will deliver the first presentation in the series, “Jazz, Culture, and the Louisiana Soundtrack: How a Nation Found its Rhythm,” on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Old Governor’s Mansion. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Jay Dardenne served for eight years as the Commissioner of Administration, the state’s chief operating officer and budget architect. He was previously elected twice as Lieutenant Governor, twice as Secretary of State, served for 15 years in the Louisiana State Senate, and spent three years as an East Baton Rouge Metro Councilman.
