Last week, the House passed 11 of the 12 appropriations bills to fund the government and to continue in their work to finish the appropriations process. House Republicans and President Trump are standing strong together in support of our nation’s military and the men and women who serve our great country.
Speaker Johnson played a key role in securing these critical investments for Louisiana. The Defense Appropriations bill includes more than $1.1 billion for Louisiana’s military bases and defense industry, including $424.7 million dedicated to defense equities in Louisiana’s Fourth Congressional District and $227 million for Barksdale Air Force Base Global Strike Command.

- $111.2 million to improve the security and training missions for AFGSC.
- $115.8 million supporting partnerships between AFGSC and the Shreveport-Bossier defense sector.
- $11.5 million to support a new collaboration program at Fort Polk that will work to resolve issues our troops face.
- $40 million to support the defense industry at Camp Minden.
- $20 million for the Military-Civilian Medical Surge Program.
- Robust funding for Department of War Impact Aid, which supports schools in communities with large military presences such as Vernon Parish.
