Louisiana State Police will be conducting a free child passenger safety seat check-up on Saturday, Feb. 20 from noon until until 4:00 p.m.
The event will be held at Walmart, located at 1379 Homer Road in Minden.
According to LSP, about 3 out of 4 child seats are not used correctly and the misuse rate can be attributed to the great variety of child seats available, range of the children’s weights and heights and the vast array of vehicles in today’s market.
During the past 30 years, about 8,959 lives have been saved by the use of child restraints according to the National Highway Safety Administration.
Every Louisiana State Police Troop is recognized by the NHTSA as a child safety seat inspection station.
