DeKarlos Harrison, 36, residing in the 200 block of Abney Street, was arrested for alleged domestic abuse battery with strangulation.
According to the Minden Police Department, officers responded to a call around 10:30 PM on April 11 in the 900 block of Carolina Street. The caller, Harrison’s girlfriend, reported being locked in a closet and stated that Harrison had committed battery on her.
Upon arrival, Officer Crittenden made contact with the girlfriend, who reported that Harrison had fled on foot. Sergeant Cayer located and detained Harrison on Pershing Street.
The girlfriend stated that Harrison had jumped on her and choked her, resulting in a small red abrasion on her neck. She expressed a desire to file criminal charges against Harrison, signing a complaint affidavit and providing a written statement. A LAVNS form was completed, and photos were taken of the mark on her neck.
DeKarlos Harrison and his girlfriend have lived together within the past year. Harrison was subsequently charged with domestic abuse battery with strangulation. He is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings.
