Springhill will set the stage for Mardi Gras on January 26, with the festivities commencing at 5:00 PM. The Springhill Main Street Annual Mardi Gras Parade will follow at 6:30 PM, starting at the south end of Main Street. The procession will weave its way up Main, turn right onto Clinic Street at the Express Tax & Title office, and proceed south on First Street, concluding at the Piggly Wiggly parking lot.
Under the big top, attendees can relish entertainment alongside food trucks, face painting, caricature drawings, Mardi Gras decor, and music. The festive atmosphere may even feature a bit of street dancing.
Minden’s Annual Mardi Gras Parade on January 27, 2024
In Minden, the Mardi Gras celebrations continue on January 27, starting at 5:00 PM. The parade will kick off at E.S. Richardson Elementary School and, starting at Elm Street, it will wind its way through East and West, turning on McDonald Street, traveling to Main Street, up to Pine Street, and returning on Broadway Street back to Elm Street.
Attendees can expect vibrant floats, festive music, and creative costumes, with the traditional tossing of beads accompanied by a showcase of rich cultural traditions associated with Mardi Gras.
